Development History / Background:
Dune: Awakening was revealed on the first night of Gamescom 2022 with a cinematic trailer and several concept art images. Set in the imaginative universe of Frank Herbert's 1965 sci-fi novel, Dune: Awakening aspires to combine the survival gaming genre with a large, persistent world shared by thousands of players. Funcom, the Oslo, Norway based developer has experience with both genres. MMORPGs with for thousands of concurrent players.
