Ankama Games was founded in 2001 by Anthony Roux, Camille Chafer, and Emmanuel Daras from which the company’s name comes from: ANthony, KAmille, and MAnu. Each of the founders currently serves as heads of the company’s different departments. The company is currently based in Roubaix, with another studio in North America. The company was initially formed as a web development agency before releasing their first game in 2003, publishing their first magbook in 2007, and airing their first animated series in 2008. They are dedicated to creating links between their products to give s a chance to alternate between various media and provide full immersion in their chosen imaginary worlds. Ankama both develops and self publishes their own MMORPGs.
