Xbox Will No Longer Be ing Unlicensed Accessories Come November 12
Bad news for Xbox s who’ve hooked up unlicensed third-party accessories to their consoles. Starting next month, unauthorized accessories will no longer work with your gaming system. Those include controllers, headsets, and other unlicensed hardware that work with Xbox systems.
While you’ll still be able to use unlicensed accessories for the time being, you’ll constantly be reminded with a pop-up message saying that they compromise the gaming experience and will be blocked starting November 12th.
It’s worth noting that this only applies to “unlicensed” hardware, particularly to third-party wireless controllers, as most licensed ones are currently only available in wired variants. Microsoft, however, promises to expand its list of authorized third-party wireless controllers in the future.
From November 12, 2023, Microsoft will no longer allow unauthorized third-party accessories to be used with its Xbox consoles.
According to sources, MS plans to expand its program for approved third-party wireless Xbox controllers.
