Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Summer Update ‘The Realm of Awakened Phantasies’ Arrives June 4

SEGA has announced the next major content update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, set to go live June 4. Titled The Realm of Awakened Phantasies, this summer update brings a fresh mini episode, two new limited-time quests, a level cap increase (to 105), a new 12-star armor series, and several new features across character customization and card battles.

New Genesis, launched as a reboot and evolution of the original Phantasy Star Online 2, continues to expand with seasonal updates that introduce narrative progression, fresh mechanics, and quality-of-life improvements for new and returning players alike.

Key features launching June 4:

• Mini Episode: Post-Vael Reflection
  • Explores how key characters reflect on past events and look toward the future following Vael’s defeat
  • Available after completing Main Tasks
• Limited-Time Quests
  • Shadow of the Fallen Star: Investigate Crimson Realm anomalies in the Retem Region with Pharia as the guide. Comes with rewards including N-Meseta, CAST Parts, and Preset Skills
  • The Citadel in the Forest: A rework of the older Fortress in the Forest quest, featuring new enemy types and mechanics that evolve after June 11
  • Both quests include additional limited-time tasks and cosmetic rewards such as new hairstyles, accessories, and Titles
• Level and Gear Enhancements
  • Level cap for all classes increased to 105
  • Weapon and armor enhancement cap raised to 100
  • Players can now affix up to 8 Augments per item
  • Introduction of Progre Armor, a new 12-star series offering a 7% Potency Increase and strong base stats
  • New C/Ultia Domina Augment can be crafted using materials obtained from June 4 quests
• Line Strike Expansion
  • Twelve new cards in Wave 5, featuring characters from Phantasy Star Universe and Phantasy Star Portable 2
  • New starter deck focused on Buff tactics added to the AC Shop
  • Card Recycle updates allow players to trade for cosmetics and older cards
