Valorant Changes Up Split Map With Patch 2.01
Last week’s major Valorant update saw the debut of the newest agent, Yoru, and the start of Season 2 among other things. Patch 2.01, while smaller in comparison, introduces significant structural changes to the Split map to make it more balanced for the attacking team.
“This Split update is focused around improving attacker options on the map, as well as reducing 50/50 checks, the depth of certain corners, and opening specific areas on the map by increasing chokepoint widths.”
The patch also nerfed Jett’s smoke duration from 7 seconds to 4.5 seconds, introduced harsher AFK queue restrictions for repeat offenders, and gave players the ability to hide custom game results in Match History. The option to add enemy players to your friend’s list has also been removed along with the ability to add teammates with privacy/streamer mode enabled.
The full patch notes can be found on the Valorant official site. You can also check out the video below for a visual rundown of the changes to Split.
