Palia Teases New Astrology System, New Villager, And Houdates Coming Soon

Singularity 6 has a shiny new gameplay system called Palia. It’s essentially a lore-based astrology system that aims to make mining a more profitable affair.

Starstones function as the in-game equivalent of birthstones in the real world. They can be obtained through mining and are extremely valuable commodities in the game. “Your full Palian astrology sign (or Star Path) combines the season you were born in and the Luna moon phase you were born under,” Singularity 6 explains. “These Star Paths imply a particular set of personality traits; but just like Astrology in our world, they don’t necessarily demand that personality type.”

Players will be able to mine 10 different Starstones, some rarer than others. Each Starstone is associated with a different personality type or quality. Ruby, for example, represents the constellation called The Merchant and is associated with intelligence and ambition. Quartz, on the other hand, is one of the easiest Starstones to obtain and represents The Builder constellation which is associated with steadfastness and respect.

It’s unclear whether Starstones will server other purposes aside from just being something expensive to sell, but the team promises to share more information in the lead up to their release.

Singularity 6 will also be doubling the housing addons limit from 15 to 30 and will allow players to build as many main houses as will fit in their plots of land. In line with the houdate, the décor limit will also be bumped up to 3,000 pieces.

There’s also a brand-new creature on the docket as well as a new villager NPC that will kick off a new storyline with its arrival. “Our next villager, a Watcher from the Order, will be summoned to Kilima to investigate why the humans have emerged,” the studio teased.

The new systems and changes are expected to arrive in the next coming updates. We’ll keep you in the loop as Singularity 6 shares more details. In the meantime, the team is offering a preview of what’s to come in their latest developer blog.
