Guild Wars 2 Brings Back PvP Push Mode Testing with Major Updates
Guild Wars 2 is giving its experimental Push PvP mode another shot, inviting players to jump back in and see what’s changed since last year’s initial beta. ArenaNet is using this new round of public testing not just to show off improvements but to collect more from the community, especially after the first test sparked both excitement and criticism about visual clutter and unclear mechanics.
Push mode aims to shake up GW2’s traditional PvP formula, which has remained fairly consistent over the years. The studio says that the strong player interest during last September’s rough prototype encouraged them to invest further in the mode and refine its systems. This new test is live through Memorial Day weekend and brings a host of changes based on what players highlighted previously.
Key updates in the latest Push mode beta include:
- A reworked and visually updated map with an all-new theme
- Introduction of a hovercart as a new primary objective
- Adjustments to the secondary objective for improved balance
- Mechanics inspired by the fan-favorite Skyhammer conquest map
- Refined UI and a revised scoreboard for better clarity
Players interested in seeing the evolution of Push mode can take part in the beta now up until May 27. ArenaNet is actively collecting in hopes of turning Push into a core part of Guild Wars 2’s PvP lineup, addressing past shortcomings and building on community suggestions.
