AdventureQuest 3D Players Voice Concerns About New Allegedly Pay-To-Win Pets

Artix Entertainment is facing massive backlash from the AdventureQuest 3D community with the release of the fantasy MMORPG’s latest update. The update in question, dubbed Nulgath Saga 3B, introduced a pair of new cash shop pets that have immediately been deemed as pay-to-win.

The new pets offer quests that reward players with best-in-slot gear. While the rewards in of itself aren’t cause for alarm, the fact that the pets can only be obtained by purchasing them with currency has set alarm bells ringing among the game’s community.

Dissatisfied players expressed their concerns on Discord, arguing that this addition violated the studio’s Kickstarter promise of offering purely cosmetic items for currency. They fear this change could disrupt the game’s PvE progression by providing a fast track to best-in-slot items.

Meanwhile, the controversial new pets risk overshadowing a new class coming to the game. “We’re happy to announce that the Oracle – a damage Class with some interesting debuffs – is well underway, and we’re making great strides in shaping this spectacular addition into our world,” teased the studio. “The Oracle’s abilities look AMAZING, unlike anything you’ve ever seen in the game – and unlike anything you’ve seen on the Design Notes. Boom!”
