Wild West Online Overview
Inspired by old American Western movies and games like Red Dead Redemption, Wild West Online is the first full fledged cowboy approved MMORPG in development. Players will be able to freely explore a massive, open world and chart their own course. Gunslinging, prospecting, train robbing are all par for the course but Wild West Online also boasts saloon games, safe cracking, player housing, and community driven role-playing servers!
Wild West Online Key Features:
- Reputation System - Your actions determine how other players & NPCs interact with you. Stealing, Killing, etc label you an outlaw.
- The Wilderness - Explore settler encampments, farms, towns, train station, gang hideouts, and unique landmarks across various biomes.
- PvP Focused, PvE Options - Its a dangerous world, so travel with a posse. Those who prefer PvE gameplay can play on community RP servers.
- Free Updates - Free updates scheduled for Season 1: Persistent world housing, Nighttime defense missions, Train Robberies, Mountain and Mexico biomes.
- No Kickstarter, No Early Access, No BS - Cowboys don't bullshit. Wild West Online is 100% privately funded by investors and will NOT be using Kickstarter or Steam Early Access.

Development History / Background:
Development on Wild West Online started in 2016, before the announcement of Red Dead Redemption 2. Fans of the Rockstar Western game franchise and of movies set in the old American West, the team at 612 Games decided to stop waiting for a PC Western game and create it themselves. The new studio is comprised of industry veterans including two DJ2 Entertainment executives. DJ2 has extensive transmedia (its a spectrum) experience working with Hollywood and gaming studios.
The game was announced to the public on May 11, 2017 via a PC Gamer exclusive. The original plan was to launch a kickstarter at the end of May seeking $250,000 or more with stretch goals including female characters, train robberies and other features. The initial announcement drew so much attention that the studio was able to secure private funding for the totality of the project. The game launched on Steam on May 10, 2018. It was shut down on October 25, 2018. Wild West Online was later relaunched under the name New Frontier.
