Quake Champions is a return to the Quake franchise, the first to be released since 2005. Development History / Background:
Quake Champions is a MOBA FPS developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the first game of the Quake series to be released since the 2005 release of Quake 4. It was first showcased at E3 2016 with only a cinematic trailer. Quake Champions will not be released on console. More information is to be made public in August 2016. The game is free to play with an option to purchase it to unlock all heroes. Quake Champions announced its Closed Beta test will begin on April 06, 2017 via Twitter. Early access began on August 22, 2017 and it also launched on Steam. Early access initially had a cost of $30 and granted access to all characters.
