Novus AEterno Overview

Novus AEterno was a buy-to-play sci-fi MMORTS that features a seamless, persistent universe that hosts thousands of players at once. Driven by player choice, the game offers completely customizable units, five distinct playable races, no matchmaking tools, and endless seamless galaxies to explore and conquer. The game has no set missions and no linear script; its story arcs come from the game's lore and will happen galaxy-wide regardless of how far each player has progressed in the game. Player's actions impact how the galaxy and larger universal map progresses. Customize and develop your ships to suit the objectives at hand, with fully customizable hulls, weapons, shields, armor, and more that allow special task fleets to be fitted for specific missions or be well-rounded and suited for general combat readiness.

Development History / Background:

Novus AEterno was being developed by Taitale Studios, a studio founded by Nick Nieuwoudt, a gamer tired of limited 30-minute StarCraft sessions. His ideas evolved into a highly experienced and driven game development studio that includes an award-winning art director, world-classes programmers, and industry vets. The game was posted to Kickstarter with an initial $200,000 goal, and was approached by angel investors that offered $125,000 directly to the studio, spurned on by the game's overly positive reception. The Kickstarter was re-released with a funding goal of $75,000 on December 10, 2013, and their goal was reached within 100 hours. Novus AEterno was fully funded on January 27, 2014 with a total of $268,875 raised from crowdfunding. Taitale Studios later opened a Paypal option allowing new donations that allows early access when available, for contributors donating over $25. In early 2018 the studio abandoned Novus Aeterno and claimed to be working on another MMORTS titled Hades 8. That game was soon abandoned as well. This project was ultimately another Kickstarter scam.
