Heavy Gear Assault Overview
Begin as a pilot of the Terra Nova world, fighting as pawns in a corporate war in the mech shooter Heavy Gear Assault (HGA). Part of the Heavy Gear franchise, HGA boasts a world rich with lore and stories for both old fans and new. Construct mechs called Gears that come in the various types of Recon, Brawler, Sniper, and Electronics. Customize and enhance Gears extensively, increasing different aspects such as speed, weight, and strength. Play on maps featuring different locations and landscapes, from deserts to icy mountains. Fight in ranked multiplayer matches in real-time PvP arenas and complete the single-player campaign. Enjoy and participate in the competitive ever-growing eSports scene.

Development History / Background:
Heavy Gear Assault is a mech shooter developed by MekTek Studios and published by Stomy Bot Productions, both Canadian-based gaming companies. The game is part of the Heavy Gear franchise created by Dream Pod 9. Heavy Gear Assault is built on the Unreal Engine 4 for the PC platform. A Kickstarter campaign began in May 2013 before being cancelled due to failure of meeting financial goals. A paid alpha version of the game was released in 2014 and 2015 to help raise funds for the game. Heavy Gear Assault hit Valve's Steam as an Early Access game in December 2016. The developer has stopped publish updates as of May 14, 2018 and the game servers are no longer online. Steam continues to list the game for sale at $39.99 despite multiple negative reviews complaining that the game does not work.
