Dogs of War Online Overview
Dogs of War Online is a 3D free-to-play tactical MMO set in the war-torn world of Aarklash, ravaged by the conflicts between three factions: Light, Darkness, and Destiny. The player takes control of a free company formed under one of the three factions, composed of distinct units that range from undead monsters to brave humanoid soldiers. Based on the popular miniature board game Confrontation, the game offers a detailed and established set of game rules that make for a unique tactical RPG experience, with features such as counter-attacking, enemy engagement, and encirclement. 54 units are available to unlock as you increase your ranking, as well as 9 powerful Champions that can lead your army into battle. Customize your units with cosmetic dyes and play either competitively against other players or against AI to polish your skills.

Dogs of War Online is developed by Cyanide, a French game development studio created by seven ex-Ubisoft employees, based in the western suburbs of Paris, . Dogs of War Online was released for a closed beta on October 9, 2013, which lasted until February 4, 2014, when the game went into a public open beta on the Steam platform. Once the game went into open beta, its developers continually updated the game until July 2014; no updates have been released since then. There is no official announcement on whether the game is still in development or if it will be fully released in the future. Cyanide has developed a wide variety of other games, including sports games, stealth games, and licensed games that include Of Orcs and Men, Blood Bowl II, and Styx: Master of Shadows.
