Wayfinder Rolled Out A Massive Update And Kicked Off Its First Eventide Event
You know how the holidays seem to have crept up on the world? Well, it crept up on Wayfinder players as well when Airship Syndicate quietly rolled out a huge update earlier this week, which paved the way for the start of the free-to-play MMO’s first holiday event later today.
Eventide celebrations will soon be underway across Evenor, promising season-appropriate quests and challenges, expeditions, bosses, cosmetics, and music, as well as “gifts, revelry, and deep-fried gelatin” until January 12.
The update also introduced the new Awakening character and weapon upgrade system, the promised Senja revamp, a handful of new weapons, a balance for existing ones, visual enhancements for Wayfinders and several zones, improved AI behavior, better loot, tweaks to XP gains, dyeable weapons, and over a thousand bug fixes.
Meanwhile, Airship Syndicate’s efforts to improve the game are paying off as the game’s reputation is now recovering from its extremely rough early access launch in August. “Seeing the public shift the tides of the Steam Reviews into Mostly Positive in these last few days has truly put some strong winds in the sails of our Airship, and we have no intention of going anywhere until we realize those shared dreams,” the studio said.
The team promises an exciting year ahead with more content drops on the horizon, including a highly requested “surprise” feature that’s currently in active development. Another less welcome surprise is that the game’s minimum system requirements on Steam have been updated to now require an SSD.
