Throne & Liberty is set to expand its arsenal with the introduction of the Spear, a versatile weapon designed to exploit enemy vulnerabilities and enhance combat strategies. Scheduled for release on December 5, the Spear offers players a dynamic approach to both offensive and defensive engagements.
Key Features of the Spear:
- Flash Barrier: Enables players to evade ranged and magical attacks, retaliating with area damage to nearby foes.
- Brand Javelin: A chargeable, directional skill that marks enemies, increasing their susceptibility to critical hits and damage.
- Cut Wings: Delivers a two-part attack that weakens enemy defenses, with the potential to execute a powerful follow-up spin attack.
- Gale Rush: Allows rapid advancement towards targets, boosting attack speed upon striking enemies. If the target is incapacitated, the skill's cooldown resets, permitting consecutive assaults.
- Smash Blade: Temporarily disables an opponent's defensive capabilities, leaving them open to further attacks.

While Throne & Liberty's playerbase has dipped 40% since its launch on October 2, the game still averages over 60,000 concurrent players on Steam. It remains one of the most popular MMORPG launches of 2024. Time will tell though if it has any lasting power though, as so far Amazon Games hasn't had much luck keeping players engaged for the long haul. Both New World playerbase numbers are down significantly since their launch. New World has seen a resurgence with the launch of Aeternum.
