Ubisoft Recounts Real-Life Pirate Tales In Its New Skull And Bones Podcast Series
Ubisoft is keeping Skull and Bones fans entertained by diving into the history books to share s of some of the most notorious pirates that prowled the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy.
The new season of Ubisoft’s Echoes of History podcast shifts its focus from Assassin’s Creed to Skull and Bones with a new series called Gangsters of the Seas. History buffs can look forward to eight weekly episodes dedicated to the lives of infamous pirates from the period, like William Kid, Kanhoji Angre, Thomas Tew, and Henry Ever, as narrated by American actress Michelle Rodriguez.
“Discover the history of the greatest pirates of the Indian Ocean. Cruel and bloodthirsty privateers, buccaneers and sailors turned criminals, they terrorized and pillaged the seas. You’ll soon learn that you’re not born a pirate. You become one!”
The marketing doesn’t stop there as Ubisoft also plans to release a Skull and Bones comic titled Savage Storm and The Art of Skull and Bones artbook on February 21.
“The former takes readers on a gritty pirate adventure set in the same merciless world of the video game, where the merchant vessel The Sylvia encounters the fictional pirate kingpin John Scurlock and iral Rahma,” the studio teases. “The latter showcases detailed character designs; concept art for the world, factions, and ships; and never-before-seen art of life on the high seas.”
As for Skull and Bones, the long-delayed multiplayer pirate game is still on track for release on February 16 and will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect, Amazon Luna, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are still available on the Ubisoft Store.
