MapleStory Launches Stargazer Update with New Character and Summer Content
Nexon’s long-running 2D side-scrolling MMORPG, has rolled out Part I of its summer Stargazer update in the Global version. This patch introduces a new playable character, Sia Astelle, and launches the Challenger World alongside several in-game events and limited-time rewards. The update marks a notable crossover between MapleStory’s mobile and PC versions, reflecting ongoing trends in the MMORPG space to unify experiences across platforms.
Key features in the Stargazer update include:
- Sia Astelle, New Job: Originating from MapleStory M, Sia Astelle makes her debut in the PC game as a Star Guardian class. She uses constellation-inspired magic and star-themed attacks, offering new gameplay mechanics and narrative elements for players interested in trying out a fresh character.
- Challenger World: This new event world offers significant stat bonuses and increased EXP rates. Players can take on challenging missions, battle powerful bosses, and earn unique rewards. Successful participants can later transfer their progress to other worlds using the World Leap feature.
- Hyper Burning MAX 1 + 4: Building on the popular Hyper Burning mechanic, this enhancement allows players to reach level 260 more quickly by granting four bonus levels for every level gained, accelerating character progression during the event period.
- Morning Star Banquet Event: Players are tasked with infiltrating a High Flora banquet to disrupt enemy plans. By participating in daily event tasks and clearing monsters, players can earn special rewards, event currency, and EXP bonuses.
Looking ahead, Nexon has outlined additional content for Part II of the Stargazer update, arriving in July:
- A crossover event with Dave the Diver, where characters from the indie hit will appear in Maple World.
- The return of the Ride or Die event, featuring upgraded challenges and exclusive summer rewards.
- Expansion of 6th Job Mastery Nodes, enabling players to further enhance their characters’ core skills.
MapleStory remains a staple in the free-to-play MMO space, known for its vibrant art style and extensive job system. By integrating characters from its mobile spin-off and introducing new event worlds, Nexon continues to refresh the experience for a global audience while staying true to the game’s side-scrolling roots.
