Shroud Of The Avatar Is Back Online, Devs Working To Restore Lost Progress
roll back the live servers to a point back in August, which effectively deletes all progress between then and when the servers were taken offline.
Release 106 is now working as it should but all created characters as well as all XP, gold, and skills earned after 6am PDT on August 24th have now been deleted, although Catnip is working to restore as much of the lost progress as they can. Players who created new characters are advised to re-create them and reach out to customer to have all of their lost XP reallocated. They’ll also have to re-train their skills, which, on the bright side is just like a free skill reset.
The process of returning lost gold, however, is proving to be more of a challenge, presumably because of the negative effects of having a large amount of currency suddenly dumped on the economy which shouldn’t have existed for another month.
The studio is also working on restoring any player-owned town (POT) upgrades and purchases from after the rollback point while those who claimed any housing lots will need to reclaim them manually. Any decoration work done on POTs or housing lots, however, cannot be restored.
Any Gold Crown of the Obsidian (COTO) or cash shop purchases made from August 24th to September 29th will automatically be re-delivered via the in-game Rewards Chest. Subscribers will also get their Release 105 and 106 rewards together in one bundle as with the September and October rewards for everyone else. That’s on top of special items and an exclusive title to be handed out to mark the snafu.
“We understand we cannot recover and return your time to you,” said Catnip. “Thank you for hanging in there with us over the last week. This was the storm before the calm. There are some huge things coming.
