Sea Of Thieves Reveals Launch Date For Safer Seas And Holiday Events
Rare has rolled out a new Sea of Thieves video newsletter that offers a rundown of some dates-to-, including the launch date for the Safer Seas private servers. The PvE-exclusive servers are scheduled go online this week on December 7th.
As a refresher, the Safer Seas servers will offer a more casual experience without the risks associated with open-world PvP. This, however, will come at the cost of significantly reduced experience, reputation, and gold gains, a whopping 70% to be exact. Doubloon and Ancient Coin rewards will remain the same, although some Doubloon-granting activities will be disabled in Safer Seas.
Later in the month, players can look forward to the Gifts and Glory holiday event which will run from December 18th through December 24th, offering a new collection of seasonal rewards to earn. Another event will follow on December 30th which will run until January 2nd with a Golden Grogmanay Tankard up for grabs, or an additional notch for those who already own it.
The video newsletter also outlines some of the recent fixes and adjustments made to the Skull of Siren Song mechanics to prevent cheesing. The developers also promised to address the issue of players scuttling their ships to gain an advantage in the competitive PvP voyage. You can check out the full video below.
