PlanetSide 2 Rolls Out February’s QoL-Focused Update On The Public Test Server

Rogue Planet Games has pushed out a new patch on the PlanetSide 2 public test server ahead of its release later this month. The update isn’t heavy on new content but it does offer various gameplay and quality-of-life improvements.

“A major focus for the team in 2023 is about tightening up the core of the game and revisiting of past projects,” said Creative Director Michael Henderson. “Keeping in theme, we’ve been working through January on a multitude of gameplay refinements, experience improvements, anti-cheat development, and an investigation of server performance issues.”

Some of the highlights of the patch include Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR , new profiling zones for testing server performance, new missions, the return of remote vehicle spawning, capture mechanic tweaks, reworked reflex sighting, the removal of continent-specific perks, additional character slots t(one free slot for subscribers and two additional purchasable slots), discounted gender change tokens, and groundwork for the sci-fi MMO shooter’s Valentine’s Day event which kicks off on February 8th.

Henderson also revealed that they discreetly introduced new anti-cheat measures which the team is continuously making adjustments to. Now cheaters can start looking for loopholes or new ways to by the system.
