Path Of Exile Previews Archnemesis Mod Nerfs, Promises Explanation Of Balance Changes

One week after the release of landed them in hot water with the community, the team is now planning to adjust the difficulty of the new Archnemesis defense modifiers for mobs.

An patch will introduce nerfs to a whole host of defensive mods, with some effects getting nerfed from 80% down to just 50% while some immunities and resistances will be removed altogether. According to Grinding Gear, the changes are meant to prevent stacking mods from being too punishing, especially for builds created around specific elemental damage types.

“We want defensive modifiers to exist, and these implicitly make rare monsters harder for certain builds to kill,” the studio said. “However, we absolutely agree that it’s frustrating when multiple similar mods stack together and extend the length of the fight exponentially,” the post reads in part.”

The team also promises to explain the reasoning behind the balance changes for Lake of Kalandra, particularly the more controversial ones. “We're sorry for the delay on this, it has been a bit of a week,” said Grinding Gear.
