Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen Discusses Combat And The Addition Of Sprinting In This Month’s Dev Stream
Visionary Realms is back with their monthly developer roundtable stream to talk about how the combat system works in Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen.
Associate Game Designer Adam Mostel and Creative Director Chris Perkins offers in-depth information on multiple aspects of combat in the fantasy MMORPG, including damage types, different NPC combat styles, using terrain to gain advantage, roles and classes, damage calculation, raid difficulty, and more.
The devs also revealed their plans to remove critical hit chance for spells to make casting spells more deliberate and costly. In addition, the team says that they’ll also be adding a sprint skill which will be available in their first playtest for 2022.
“This is something we’ve kept under wraps for a while, but all characters will be able to sprint for short distances,” said the devs. “It will utilize Endurance as a resource to do so and is tied to a skill system, allowing you to sprint faster as your sprinting skill increases.” They also teased other traversal mechanics such as climbing and swimming.
