Mad World Devs Roll Back Servers By 3 Hours Due To A Loot Drop Exploit

Things are still a bit of a mess in ongoing launch issues, a recent content update gone-wrong has forced developer Jandisoft to roll back the servers by three hours.

The update in question promised new PvP zones, new raids, a new dungeon, and improved rewards. Unfortunately, it also included a bug that several players exploited to obtain extra loot drops from all fields and instanced dungeons. The team promptly hit the kill switch for the servers but had to resort to rolling back progress to remove any unfair advantage gained from the exploit.

As compensation for the rollback, players who logged in between 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. on May 18th will receive 300,000 gold, 20 phantom spheres, 2,000 wood, and 2,000 stone. These will be given out to the first character that logs into the and will be given out in two separate parcels before May 21st. All MCASH purchases made during the rollback period will also be refunded in full.

“Once again, our deepest apologies for those of you who have lost precious equipment or enhanced items following our decision,” wrote Jandisoft. “We are aware how much disappointment data recovery would bring upon gamers, we’d like to ask for your understanding that we had to make the best decision in order to optimize the game environment.”

“Rest assured, we will take greater caution in inspecting and handling balance-d data before we proceed with our updates, and we will also renew our update process to provide you with better service.”

Meanwhile, the promised Steam version of the game is still nowhere to be seen.
