[Update] Kingdom Under Fire 2's Taiwanese Closed Beta Begins December 6th
Like most of you, perhaps the last thing I expected to see today was news about Kingdom Under Fire 2. Blueside's highly anticipated MMO/action RPG/RTS hybrid launched in Southeast Asia in May 2014 before appearing to be abandoned shortly thereafter. The game hadn't launched in its home country of South Korea at that point and updates have continued to be few and far between over the course of its time online. Nevertheless, subtle signs of life continued to appear with Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, and Western releases promised.
It turns out that the Taiwanese release is inching ever closer, as the Closed Beta begins on December 6th. According to Facebook page, the Closed Beta will run from December 6th to December 11th.
For those interested, you can try your luck at getting early access to the game here. I managed to get access on my first try, so odds are good that you will be able to get a key. I do not yet know if there is an IP block or not, but I was able to successfully the game without a VPN. It weighed in at 15.9 GB and ed at a maximum of 1 MB per second.
Unfortunately, there is still no timeframe for a Western release. According to 2p, the game won't launch in the West until after it launches in China. The game has yet to launch in China, thus we have yet to receive any word on that front.
