Gloria Victis Reworks Map And Castle Mechanics To Encourage More PvP Action
Black Eye Games has reworked the Gloria Victis game world to make it more conducive to fights as it prepares the low fantasy medieval MMORPG for its transition from early access to full release. The map changes are designed to encourage more PvP encounters and increase activity around castles.
One of the more significant changes to the map is that the outer ring is now a non-loot zone. According to Black Eye, having the entire map as a full-loot zone discouraged players from venturing out of the safety of their castles to attempt sieges or engage in PvP. Most players prefer to hole themselves up and simply wait for an attack to come when the State of War is active. With the new map changes, the studio hopes to take some of the pressure off and hopefully encourage players to go out and look for fights.
The castles located in the middle of the map have also been turned into nation-controlled castles. They’ll still have the same benefits as they had when they were guild castles except that other guilds or players can now lay siege and attempt to capture them at any time. They’ve also been upgraded with top tier workshops, the best quality farms, and buffs that expand their area-of-effect as the occupying nation gains control over more castles. Black Eye, however, promises that guild castles will be coming back in a new-and-improved form.
The studio will also leave the State of War active for the holidays instead of turning it off like they normally did. Speaking of holidays, several Christmas events are now live with various rewards up for grabs, including a Santa Suit.
