Dune Awakening Showcases The Colossal Sandworms In Its Latest Feature Preview Video
In the Dune novels and films, the planet Arrakis has claimed the title as the most dangerous planet in the universe not only because of its unforgiving desert environments but more so because of the massive sandworms that roam beneath the shifting sands, ready to devour anything in its path.
Like in the books and movies, the colossal creatures will also be prowling beneath the sands in Dune Awakening open world MMO and is the star of Part 9 of the studio’s Shigawire Reels video series.
“The great sandworms of Dune roam the open desert and are sensitive to any rhythmic vibration, including footsteps,” says Funcom. “Seek the safety of rock islands and learn how to use a thumper to distract worms.”
Funcom has yet to announce a release date for Dune Awakening but promised to reveal more information about the beta test sometime in the next few months. In the meantime, you can catch a glimpse of the virtual version of the monstrous sandworms in the new feature preview trailer below.
