Dune: Awakening Offers More Info On CBT Selection Process And Gameplay Loop
It’s probably safe to say that there are a lot of Dune: Awakening fans hoping to get into the survival sandbox MMO’s next closed beta test. Unfortunately, not everyone will receive an invite and getting one boils down to whether you fit a certain demographic, hence the required survey.
The survey asks questions about your gaming habits, what type of games you play, whether you’ll be playing on PC and consoles, your hardware specs, and whether you’ve read the books, watched the movies, or played any of Funcom’s games. If you haven’t filled it out yet, you can do so here.
According to the newly updated FAQ, would-be testers can also increase their chances of getting invited to the playtests by simply ing the official Discord. It also offers more information on the selection process and Dune: Awakening’s core gameplay loop, and confirms that playtests will be covered by an NDA until further notice.
Funcom also reiterated in a recent post on X that it’s entirely possible to take on the challenges of Arrakis as a solo player but grouping up will not only make everyone more efficient but will also significantly increase your chances of survival on the treacherous desert planet.
“Playing as a lone wolf is a viable way to traverse the dunes, however, forming relationships and gaining allies can give an advantage to your survival on Arrakis,” tweeted the devs. “With friends, taking and completing contracts can be more efficient as you explore with the journey system. Or if you get knocked down in the heat of battle, a helping hand can get you back on your feet.”
Meanwhile, Funcom has yet to lock in a date for the next closed beta test or even offer up a launch window.
