ArcheAge Unchained Has Shut Down Following This Week’s Big Server Merge
The time of ArcheAge Unchained has come to an end as Kakao Games officially shuts down the buy to play version of ArcheAge. The and free-to-play servers have now been merged down into just one server each for North America and Europe.
As previously announced, all existing characters have had their name changed to default values to prevent potential naming conflicts. Affected players will be able to change them to whatever they like when they for the first time after the merge. Note that names will be available on a first come, first served basis, so you better act fast.
Land ownership has also been reset with a land rush for both servers scheduled for tomorrow, December 2nd. That’s also something that you won’t want to miss if you want your pick of prime real estate. Kakao will also be hosting a series of events throughout the month to help bolster player morale.
If you’d rather hold out for ArcheAge 2, you’ve still got a long wait ahead of you. Developer XLGames recently pushed back closed beta testing for the highly awaited sequel to sometime after Gamescom 2024 in August. With that in mind, we probably won’t be expecting full release until 2025.
The ArcheAge Merge process is complete, and we're thrilled to celebrate this new adventure in Erenor with you!
