Earthrise Overview
Earthrise is a sandbox MMORPG shooter developed and published by SilentFuture. Set in a post-apocalyptic setting, players will build their characters from scratch, using a unique skill system where points are not bound by classes. Earthrise features an extensive crafting system where gear and items can be created from blueprints and raw materials. Gear decays over time, can be modded, and even upgraded. Combat consists of both story-driven PvE and skill-based PvP, with open-world PK and friendly fire. Other features of Earthrise include a clan system, an in-game mail system, and a vehicle/mount system.
Earthrise Key Features:
- Unique Skill Tree Progression – players can explore extensive and in-depth skill trees where characters are not bound by class.
- Craft Your Own Gear – with sandbox gameplay, create items, weapons, and armor from raw materials and blueprints. Players can also mod and upgrade their gear for different stat bonuses.

Development History / Background:
Earthrise was originally developed by the Bulgarian game company Masthead Studios, and originally published by Iceberg Interactive. It was released in February 2011. After initial testing, the servers were shut down in February of 2012. It was then acquired by SilentFuture that same year in May, and is now being developed and published by the German gaming company. It began closed alpha testing near the end of 2012, and went through a strange hiatus/development stage that was sporadically updated. Then, suddenly, in December 2015, the game hit Valve's Steam Greenlight. The game was abandoned on March 17, 2016.
