World War II Online Will Be Adding New Features And The MG-42 Machine Gun This Year

World War II Online developer Cornered Rat Software reveals their plans for the long-running MMOFPS in 2022. These include new gameplay features, new weapons, and new vehicles for players to enjoy.

Of particular note are the addition of mobile airfields, gliders, free-to-play fighter aircraft, half-tracks, and the iconic MG-42 machine gun. The team will also be enhancing the game’s special effects as well as weapon and vehicle audio.

The team also teased several features that are currently in-development but have no release dates, such as improvements to strategic bombardment, the ability for tank crews to repair tracks, and the addition of artillery along with an observer infantryman class to direct fire .

In addition to work being done on World War II Online, Cornered Rat also gave the community a glimpse at the development progress on their standalone shooter, WWII Online: Chokepoint, which is currently in early access.
