Wayfinder’s Big Quality Of Life Update Broke Both The PC And PlayStation Versions
action MMORPG. It introduced a more streamlined interface, inventory, and fast travel system, improved the crafting system, and tweaked damage reduction values to reduce spikes in both outgoing and incoming damage.
Unfortunately, several critical issues also popped up alongside the update’s release. Masteries stopped working, cash shop items that weren’t intended to go on sale yet went live at extremely high prices, and player items went missing, forcing Airship Syndicate to take both the Steam and PlayStation 5 versions offline as they tried to sort out the mess.
The Steam servers came back online just two hours later but had been rolled back by several hours to the previous build. This not only served to restore the missing items but also reverted the faulty systems back to when they were working. Obviously, this came at the cost of lost progress, but the team likely decided to go with the lesser of two evils.
The PlayStation servers, however, have yet to be restored four days after they were taken offline. Apparently, it’s a common occurrence with each update release and PlayStation s aren’t happy, especially since they paid for early access.
Airship Syndicate promised more information and a timeline for both the reopening of the PlayStation servers and the re-release of Update 0.2.4.0 but have worryingly been quiet since then.
