Star Trek Online Has A New Gear Set Up For Grabs In Its Heart Of The Storm Event
Next week’s Star Trek Online Stormfall update will not only introduce new story content, it will also give players a chance to acquire a new armor set by way of the Heart of the Storm event.
During the event, players will be able to take on specific episode missions and Task Force Operations to earn daily progress towards unlocking the Kuumarke Visionary Ground set. The new gear set improves kit performance, increased maximum health, and grants the Symphony of Lightning active skill which unleashes a flurry of lightning strikes on a random enemy when used.
“Participating in this event grants daily progress towards the Grand Prize: The four-piece Kuumaarke Visionary Ground Set. Obtaining the Kuumaarke Visionary Ground Set requires 20 daily progress, and Captains can earn daily progress once per per day by playing either the new episode or Task Force Operation released this season, or any of the other episodes or Task Force Operations in the event. In total, four available missions and four available TFOs reward daily progress.”
Players who unlock the set will also get the sleek-looking Mirror of Lukari costume for their character. After that, they can still participate in the event to earn Dilithium Ore, starting at 8,000 ores and increasing by 1,000 for every day they participate in the event up to a maximum of 50,000 Dilithium Ores per day.
Players also have the option to instantly unlock the gear set using Zen which will be pro-rated depending on how much progress they already have in the bank.
The Heart of the Storm even kicks off alongside the release of the Stormfall update on May 10th and will run until June 9th. The event will be PC-exclusive with a console version planned for later this year. Event details can be found on the Star Trek Online official site.
