Sea Of Thieves Sells Real-World Goodies To Players Who Complete Specific In-Game Achievements

Sea of Thieves has taken its reward system to the next level with the launch of its new Pirate Perks program. Like Bungie’s rewards program, Pirate Perks will allow players to purchase exclusive physical merchandise when they complete certain in-game achievements.

Reaching level 100 in this season’s battle , for example, will grant you the opportunity to pre-order a special collectible coin. There are also several t-shirts for sale to those who complete other achievements such as reaching certain ranks with specific factions or becoming a pirate legend.

To the Pirate Perks program, simply link your Sea of Thieves with Rare’s online merch store. It’s pretty slim pickings for now but we can probably expect more real-world goodies to be added in the future, assuming that the idea takes off. However, it looks like the community isn’t too keen on giving Rare their money based on the flood of negative reactions on Twitter, Reddit, and the announcement video’s comments section.
