RuneScape Takes Players Back To The City Of Um In Tomorrow’s Housing Of Parliament Update

RuneScape is due for a big Necromancy-focused update tomorrow, dubbed Housing of Parliament. The update will send players back to the City of Um to clean up and restore the underworld city’s owlery to make it more appealing to the ethereal owls that call it home.

“RuneScape’s latest quest takes us swooping back into the City of Um to help bring some life (or... well... you know) to a quiet corner of the City: the Owlery,” says Jagex. “This area is looking a little run down – but now, helpful adventurers who don’t mind getting their hands dirty can help clean the place up and make it a more desirable place for our feathered friends to visit.”

The new quest will be available to players who’ve reached at least level 54 and completed the “Necromancy!” quest. If you’ve completed all previous quests, it will also count as your 450th Quest Point and will allow you to claim a new tier of Magical Dice from May’s Caravan just outside of Varrock.

The update will also introduce Moonstone gems that can be added to rings, bracelets, necklaces, and amulets once you’ve reached level 67 in Crafting. They can be looted from Ghost Implings or as a reward from Ritual Disturbances, which will also be updated to allow Protection Glyphs to extend their duration.

Thalmund will also be visiting the City of Um on Wednesdays to peddle his Necromancy-themed wares and to share stories and wisdom from his past life. Those who take the time to listen to all seven of his tales until March 27 will earn 20 RuneScore and the Friend of the Imcando achievement which will be one of the achievements required to obtain the Master Quest Cape.

The update will also nerf several low-level mobs to make them slightly more manageable for newbies and newly-created characters. “[…] We heard that some early-game enemies felt particularly punitive and suspiciously spiteful - they simply hit too hard and took too little damage. With that in mind, we’ve brought various enemies down a peg to make them feel a little less daunting for new players,” the studio explained.

The Housing of Parliament update is set to hit the live servers on February 12. In the meantime, you can dive deeper into the update’s contents on the RuneScape official site.
