Rocket League's Fourth Competitive Season Begins With The Release Of Dropshot
Rocket League's Dropshot mode is set to go live later at 3 PM PDT / 6 PM EDT today, allowing players to take on the challenge of having to create their own goal by hitting the ball into the ground on the opposing team's side. The mode takes place on a new hexagonal map and should provide an experience that is quite different from that of any of Rocket League's previous modes.
The patch that introduces the new Dropshot mode will also include the following changes.
- The spectator mode will now show "a Boost Meter and Rumble Power-up indicator" for the player that you are spectating.
- A new button will be added to the main menu to notify players when official eSports streams are live.
- A new "speed-themed Turbo Crate" that will include new customization options, including "animated Decals, Exotic Wheels, Black Market customizations, and more."
Rocket League's fourth Competitive Season is also set to start today. Competitive Season 4 will bring with it a number of changes, including new skill tiers, fewer divisions, changes to Grand Champion that made it more difficult to obtain, and more. You can find the full list of changes here.
