Robocraft Becomes Robocraft: Unleashed! With Latest Update
Robocraft was rebranded "Robocraft: Unleashed" as developer Freejam attempt to give players "maximum freedom to push the boundaries of style and substance" within their free to play game. This is only the first of many planned future updates taking "player and in-game data" into , according to Game Director Mark Simmons.
This first major update adds a new mode, a new map, Spitzer Dam, which is planned to be the last in the Ice Planet series as they move to a Lava Planet next, an enhanced matchmaking system based on "Robot Ranking," a new player progression system and your various everyday enhancements. The new mode is called "Boss Fights" and it features an "elite squad" going up against a "horde" of contenders in a PvP match. A detailed explanation of the changes made to the matchmaking system and Robot Ranking can be found here, including all of the math that goes into it.
The new player progression system is simplified, being based entirely on Player Level. As you level up, you will unlock new components. With this new system of progression, Tech Points been removed from the game completely.
