Riders Of Icarus Opens New Cash Shop Tab For Items That Can Be Sold In-Game
Yesterday's Nexon America and relegated to a tab known as "NX Plus" that can only be paid for using NX Prepaid, rather than NX Credit.
For those wondering what the difference between NX Credit and NX Prepaid is, NX Prepaid can only be obtained through Epin, Karma Koin, Nexon Game Cards, and other similar methods, whereas NX Credit allows players to use credit cards, PayPal, and Bill to Mobile.
If the images in the forum post announcement are anything to go off of, it appears that the initial set of NX Plus items will include Elluns, subscriptions, and 30-day Shoulder Cats. The addition of Elluns to the NX Plus tab means that much of the cash shop will be available to those that don't pay, as long as they buy Elluns off of the in-game auction house.
Taking into the fact that anyone will now be able to obtain Elluns whether they pay or not, it's a bit odd that Nexon opted to restrict the NX Plus tab to those that purchase cash through NX Prepaid. In fact, I'd say that the very fact that there's a distinction to begin with is rather odd in and of itself. It feels like a misguided attempt to kickstart the use of a payment method that few want to use, but I can't be sure that that's the case without stats of some sort.
How do you feel about Nexon allowing Riders of Icarus players to sell cash shop items on the in-game auction house?
