Paragon's Latest Hero Is...A Pop Star

Epic Games hasintroduced some fairly inventive heroes to Paragon in the time since it was released, not least of which was the drummer orc Narbash that ed players by playing various beats on his drums. But today, the choreographed dance of high-skill MOBA gameplay becomes a bit more choreographed, as, on February 21st, Paragon will be introducing a hero named "Shinbi" and she is a literal pop star.

Shinbi is a melee assassin that can "dazzle" enemies before tearing them apart. Her abilities are as follows.

• Rushing Beat (RMB/R1) - Shinbi dashes forward ing through enemies and dealing damage, she can also re-trigger quickly after to dash again.
• Line Tempo (Q/Square) - A Spirit Wolf is summoned and runs out in a straight line, ing through minions and dealing damage. The wolf explodes on with an enemy Hero.
• Circle Rhythm (E/Circle) - Shinbi summons four Spirit Wolves that circle her for 4 seconds, which deal damage and heal Shinbi for each hit.
• All-Kill! (R/Triangle) - ive: All of Shinbi’s abilities apply +1 Spirit Wolf stack per hit to enemy Heroes, building up to eight stacks. Active: When activated a pack of Spirit Wolves attack the closest target with the highest number of Wolf stacks, sending one Wolf per stack.

While I can appreciate that the team at Epic is attempting to introduce a wide variety of characters of various archetypes, I found the announcement video to be somewhat off-putting. That being said, she may end up being a character that is fun to play, even if I find the literal glittering hearts that appear during combat to be more than a bit out of place in a game like Paragon.Ultimately, the character seems to indicate that Epic is committed to creating a sense of there being a wider world around the battles of Paragon.
