New Cyberpunk 2077 Game-Breaking Bug Found, Investors Consider Class-Action Suit
Cyberpunk 2077 continues to disappoint players the world over with yet another serious game-breaking bug, this time affecting both consoles and PC versions of the game. The new bug permanently corrupts the game’s save files once it reaches a certain size.
According to VG24/7, the game begins to slow down when the save file reaches 6mb and fails to load altogether when it reaches 8mb showing the error message “Saved data is damaged and cannot be loaded.”
The bug is attributed to heavy use of the crafting system and mostly affects players with a lot of items and crafting materials stored in their inventory. Once corrupted, the save file cannot be recovered although players can use an earlier save to continue playing the game. There is currently no fix for the bug.
Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red continues to be swamped by refund requests, employees are questioning the board’s decisions, and The New York Times reports that Polish investors and lawyers are looking at potentially filing a class action suit against the studio on the grounds of “Misregulating in order to obtain a financial advantage.”
