Marvel Snap Makes $30M In Revenue As New Savage Land Season Begins
Ben Brode’s The Game Awards 2022 but has also made developer Second Dinner and publisher Nuverse a boatload of cash. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the Marvel collectible card game has been ed over 14 million times and has raked in $30 million in player spending since its release.
Meanwhile, January’s new month-long season is now live with new Savage Land-themed cards, currency, and titles. Most rewards can be unlocked for free but there’s also a track with exclusive rewards for those who don’t mind dropping $10 on the game.
This week’s update also slightly nerfed the Leader card, which has been a paint point for players for its ability to copy all of the cards that your opponent plays in Turn 6. Speaking of pain points, there have been a lot of complaints about developer Second Dinner’s decision to add all of the new cards into the Series 5 endgame tier and making them more difficult to attain.
For those who’ve managed to reach Series 5, Second Dinner Co-Founder and Creative Director Ben Brode says that they can expect to unlock roughly four new cards a month and that they’re currently looking into possibly making the endgame more accessible.
“I think it’s unfortunate that right now most folks aren’t able to engage meaningfully with S4 and S5 though (and it’s something we’re currently discussing),” he said.
