Gigantic's Corruption Update is now LIVE with a New Hero!
Gigantic, a rather popular MOBA, has launched its August 2017 Update! Titled the "Corruption" update in the press release, this update is the first major update Gigantic has had since its launch, and it features a new hero - Oru!
Additionally, there are some key features in this update that bring Gigantic up-to-speed with other popular games. A Push-to-Talk feature is now live, letting players communicate with each other over voice chat in the middle of a match.
Additionally, a new Custom Lobby feature is live as well, but is a work-in-progress, currently in its beta stages.
Introducing the beta version of custom lobbies! This feature allows teams to arrange 5v5 matches without requiring them to enter the general matchmaking pool. As a beta feature, the goal was to implement the system in a way that would allow us to quickly introduce it into the game while continuing to work on the feature behind the scenes. As such, it's worth a brief explanation of how you'll setup your own custom lobbies!
It's important to note that custom matches do not reward any player progression items. No badges, prestige, fortune cards, etc, cannot be acquired through custom matches. Also, custom games do not affect skill rating, and do not incur penalties with leaving - par for the course compared to other custom matches that exist in online games.
Rounding out the update, a number of general changes have occurred, such as updating various sound effects and voice events relating to creature gestation times, an updated minimap, Sanctum Falls sound effect updates, and balance changes for just about every hero! You can read all about it here.
