Epic Games its Its Yet To See Profit From The Epic Games Store After Five Years

It’s been almost five years since the Epic Games set out to overthrow Steam with the launch of its Epic Games Store. However, despite Epic’s best efforts to beat the competition, the company its that it’s still a long way from doing so.

In his testimony in the antitrust lawsuit against Google, Epic Games general manager Steve Allison said that the platform still isn’t profitable for the company. Nevertheless, Allison said that he sees a future where the Epic Games Store will eventually become to leading distribution platform for PC games.

Honestly, that may well be wishful thinking on Allison’s part as Steam continues to dominate the market in spite of the parade of free games that Epic Games regularly gives away every week. By contrast, Steam remains the platform of choice for both gamers and developers despite its higher developer fees and the lack of giveaways.
