Diablo Immortal Rakes In $24M In Just Two Weeks Despite Monetization Complaints

Despite complaints about its monetization scheme, Diablo Immortal is still making a killing in the mobile market, raking in over $24 million in just two weeks. The game has been criticized for being lockbox mechanics which some players claim will require upwards of $100,000 to fully max out a character. But, apparently that’s not stopping players from opening their wallets.

According to AppMagic, iOS s have spent around $13 million on the mobile spinoff while those on Android spent roughly $11 million. Before you say that all that money probably came from Asian whales, the fact is that 43% of spending came from players in the United States and only 23% from South Korea.

Those numbers don’t include spending on PC. Unfortunately, we don’t have data on that yet but Blizzard has reported that the game has been installed over 10 million times collectively on both platforms, making it the biggest launch in the Diablo series.

Of course, there’s also the launch hype to consider. We’ll also have to wait for Blizzard’s next quarterly financial report, which should be coming out sometime in July, for more accurate data on the actual revenue generated by the game.
