Diablo 4’s Weekend Open Beta Test Is Now Underway With Intentionally Long Queues
Diablo 4’s highly-awaited open beta test is now well underway on PC and consoles, giving anyone and everyone a chance to take the shared world action RPG out for a test drive for the entire weekend. Testers will be able to level their characters up to 25 as they play through the game’s prologue and first story act much like last weekend’s pre-order beta.
Last week, players were able to choose from three out of the five playable classes: the Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer. Fort this weekend’s beta test, players will be able to play as any of the five available classes as Blizzard unlocks the Druid and Necromancer for testing. Up to four players will be able to team up in online or couch co-op to explore Sanctuary and take on its challenges including the world boss Ashava.
That’s assuming that you have the patience to wait out the extremely long queues which, according to Blizzard, is apparently intentional. “This past weekend helped us to forecast the capacity we expect this weekend, and we will be using that capacity to intentionally stress our systems in preparation for launch,” the team explains. “In summary, while we know it can be frustrating, we need queues to properly stress test our services and we are deg to ensure we have them some of the time.”
Do note that all characters will be deleted prior to the game’s official launch on June 6th, so don’t get too attached to them. See you in Sanctuary!
