Destiny 2 Kicks Off Fireteam Finder Beta Tomorrow And Teases In-Game Events

Destiny 2’s highly requested Fireteam Finder is taking the next step towards its impending release with a beta test that’s set to kick off tomorrow, December 6th. As you probably already guessed, the Fireteam Finder is basically a tool to help players find and groups to take on the MMO shooter’s growing selection of raids.

It’s worth noting that running challenging encounters with strangers isn’t always ideal, but Bungie reports that Fireteam Finder testers successfully completed their chosen raid 42% of the time and took roughly the same time to do so as pre-made groups. The completion rate isn’t exactly reassuring, but it’s better than wasting time looking for a group or trying to put one together on the fly. Time that would have been better spent trying to complete a raid.

The Fireteam Finder is expected to go live sometime in late January according to the online shooter’s latest weekly newsletter. That same newsletter heralds the arrival of various PvP and PvE events, starting with the first round of Iron Banner later today, with two more scheduled on January 2nd and January 23rd. Crucible Mode will also be returning as an optional activity instead of being part of the regular PvP rotation.

For PvE fans, The Dawning holiday event begins on December 12th followed by the Grandmasters playlist on January 19th. In the meantime, the new Warlord’s Ruin dungeon is available for players with Lightfall dungeon keys to plumb as of this weekend.
