Daybreak And Cryptic’s Jack Emmert Is Now Head Of NetEase’s First US-Based Studio

Dimensional Ink Games CEO and Cryptic Studios Co-founder Jack Emmert has taken the reins of a new NetEase Studio called Jackalope Games. The new studio is based in Austin, Texas and is NetEase’s first owned studio in the U.S.

“Jackalope Games will be creating new and exciting PC and console games as a first party studio of NetEase Games. Jackalope Games is led by industry veteran Jack Emmert, whose credits include DC Universe Online. Jack has worked on games based on some of the biggest media franchises in history and brings decades of MMORPG experience to this studio.”

“NetEase Games is the best possible place for me and my team to thrive,” said Emmert in the official press release. “We share the same ion – to create engaging online universes for gamers worldwide. NetEase Games is providing the and resources needed to build a great studio and great games.”

Dimensional Ink has yet to announce Emmert’s replacement or whether the studio’s previously-teased Marvel MMO will still be pushing through. Emmert apparently resigned from his post in March as revealed in his LinkedIn profile.
