Crowfall Now Comes With A Free Trial, Lower Price, And Small-Guild Sieges

Crowfall is now offering a 10-day free trial period to give prospective players a chance to kick the tires before purchasing a copy game. For those who decide to buy-in, ArtCraft Entertainment has once again slashed a few dollars off of the game’s price tag, bringing it down from $39.99 to just $14.99 effective immediately. The free trial and price change rolled out alongside today’s major game update.

Smaller guilds of 20-50 can now lay siege or hold forts without being steamrolled by larger guilds. Guilds with 10-25 players, on the other hand, can also affect the game’s outcome by holding and defending smaller forts, outposts, and mines to prevent other factions from gaining access to them. The Alliance system has also been improved to allow smaller guilds to band together to give them a fighting chance against bigger guilds.

“Crowfall was created primarily with the idea of large-scale PVP siege combat as the focus,” said Executive Producer Gordon Walton in the update press release. “While that is definitely fun for a certain subset of the audience, there are other groups of players who want to be able to play with their smaller guilds and not get obliterated. In an open world game, it is extremely difficult to encourage what seems like a fair fight from a small guild perspective.”

The update also streamlines the new-player experience by introducing a “fast ” system that will allow experienced players to get to the PvP part of the game much faster. In addition, the update also features several quality-of-life improvements, including more valuable campaign rewards, new map navigation features, an expanded “buddy” program, tweaks to Eternal Kingdom and Crafting, and an enhanced chat experience.

To mark the update’s release, ArtCraft has brought back the “Decapathon” event where players can turn in enemy heads and sacrifice them to the gods for a chance to score exclusive rewards.
