Blizzard Entertainment Teases Big New Feature Coming To Overwatch Soon
Overwatch sometime in the near future as part of the game’s 5th anniversary celebrations. We don’t know exactly what it is or when it will be rolling out, but what we do know is its going to be huge.
“One large feature will be announced somewhere in the timeframe between soon and really soon,” revealed the devs in a lengthy AMA session on Reddit.
Aside from the new unnamed feature, the online MOBA shooter will also be getting a big visual overhaul and potentially cross-play , cross-progression, and a ping system to improve communication during matches.
The team also answered questions about the core philosophy behind the game and how it comes to play in Overwatch 2.
“At its heart, the game has always been about super over-the-top heroes, that are simple to understand but have a lot of depth in gameplay, especially when combined with other heroes on your team,” they explained.
“For OW2, this core philosophy is still the same, but we're looking at some of these things in somewhat of a new light. We're still pushing hard to keep heroes simple and deep, but there are some specifics we've changed such as more aggressive tank play which can change how we make Tank heroes.”
