Make The Switch To Blizzard’s New Battle.Net Mobile App Or Suffer The Consequences
Earlier this year, Blizzard Entertainment revealed plans to move its Battle.net two-factor authentication tools to the Battle.net Mobile app. Back then, Battle.net s either had the choice to use the new app or stick to the old Battle.net Authenticator app. That’s going to change at the top of the year when the studio phases out the old authenticator in favor of the new all-in-one mobile app.
“The Battle.net Authenticator app will soon be removed from all app stores and will no longer be available for ,” Blizzard announced. “If you have not yet done so, you should migrate your Authenticator to the Battle.net Mobile App now! You will keep using the Battle.net Authenticator through the Battle.net Mobile App.”
Technically, you won’t be required to make the switch to the new mobile app, but if you don’t the authenticator will automatically be detached from your when the old authenticator is deprecated on January 5th. You’ll also lose the increased backpack space, Core Hound Pup mini pet, and Looking For Group access that you received when you first attached the authenticator. To reclaim them, you’ll need to re-attach the authenticator through the new mobile app.
Essentially, it’s going to be a choice between switching to the new mobile app or losing the perks that come with it. Your call.
