The Weekly Raid: Do You Multitask While Playing MMORPGs?

This week's Weekly Raid is a bit personal: back when Burning Crusade released I grinded up my second character while watching Indiana Jones movies and Home Movies, and I only had one monitor. I couldn't just play the game. I needed to multitask.

Lately, I've realized that it's a rare event when I don't pop open YouTube or music or some other form of entertainment on a second monitor while grinding an MMORPG. The game itself isn't holding all of my attention. In fact, Final Fantasy XIV.

Am I alone here? Do you multitask while playing MMORPGs?

And then a follow-up question: does the desire to multitask while playing MMORPGs pose an issue or is it a fine addition to playing the game? Is it symptomatic of a larger issue that extends outside of gaming?

From Mega Man II to Ape Escape, I've been playing games for as long as I can . I've spent months killing porings in Ragnarok Online and more recently lived a second life in Eve Online. I usually play as gUMBY, gUMBLEoni, or gUMBLes in-game.
